SKARNER TIPS




Abilities

Crystal Slash - Skarner lashes out with his claws, dealing physical damage to all nearby enemies and charging himself with Crystal Energy for several seconds if a unit is struck. If he casts Crystal Slash again while powered by Crystal Energy, he deals bonus magic damage and slows all targets hit.
Skarner deals 25/40/55/70/85 (+) physical damage to all nearby enemies and charges himself with Crystal Energy for 5 seconds if a unit is struck.

While Skarner is charged, Crystal Slash deals 24/36/48/60/72 (+0.4) bonus magic damage and slows by 20/25/30/35/40% for 2 seconds.

Crystalline Exoskeleton - Skarner gains a shield, and while the shield persists his movement speed and attack speed are both increased.
Skarner is shielded for 70/115/160/205/250 (+0.6) damage for 6 seconds. While the shield persists, Skarner gains 30/35/40/45/50% Attack Speed and 15/17/19/21/23% increased Movement Speed.

Fracture - Skarner summons a blast of crystalline energy which deals damage to enemies struck and marks them. Striking enemies will consume the mark to heal Skarner. Killing targets outright will also activate the heal.
Skarner deals 80/120/160/200/240 (+0.7) magic damage to enemies in a line and marks them for 6 seconds.

Striking enemies will consume the mark to heal Skarner for 30/45/60/75/90 (+0.3). Killing targets outright will also activate the heal. (Each activation heals for 50% less.)

Impale - Skarner suppresses an enemy champion and deals magic damage to it. During this time, Skarner can move freely and will drag his helpless victim around with him. When the effect ends, Skarner's target will be dealt additional damage.

Energize - Basic attacks lower all ability cooldowns by 0.5 seconds. Double effect when attacking champions.






Skarner can be played top or jungle. I prefer jungle due to his fast clear times and  very good pre 6 lvl ganks.

So how do I play him?

With Skarner I have 9W and 5L with KDA of 3. Some loses are caused by lags and disconnecting.  

I start with bots and 3 pots and go on wolfs first so i  kill them before blue spawns. After blue i tend to gank top  if i see an oportunity or their top doesn't have escape cause he took for example Heal and Ignite. usually that's FB.

If I can't gank top i try to see which lane is pushing so  i  try to farm and stay close to it in  order to gank. Probably the best lane to gank would be bot in my opinion. That's how i got most of my FBs.

Build?

He can really be built as ad and ap, but i like the mix most. Don't buy Wrigles on him. Buy  Philo and Heart of gold, cause most of the time when u come in the lane to gank you  will use your Q to deal damage and slow them. So with wrigles you  will be out of mana  too much.


Playing as Skarner
-When coming in lane use your Q on minions while you  go through them so that u activate the slow . That way you  can have it right when you  get to the enemy and start slowing imidiately.

-Attack between your Q  casts so that you  lower the cooldown on Q

-Turn on  your Exoskeleton and come from a side where they won't notice you so that you can flash,ulti their carry and run to your team.

-If the carry is too far back, wait until fight breaks out. Then Q your way through the to the carry and ulti so that they lose their main dmg.

-Don't ulti their tank ever. Except when he is alone and all 4 of his allies are on the other side of the map where you  can see them.

-Always place wards for your team. They are mandatory and since you roam they won't notice you warded except if they have done the  same before you.

-Don't waste ulti on  slippery champions like Ahri, Ez or Kassadin unless you  now that their dashes are on  cd. Or if you have a big stunner burster like Annie with you.

- Use your exoskeleton all the time to move faster between camps if you  have your blue. Don't worry about big cooldown cause it lowers with auto attacks.





Playing against Skarner

- Playing as a carry versus Skarner  makes mandatory to stick behind your team at all times.

- No matter the position you play, don't get far from your team if you  do not know where is  Skarner

-There are spells that block his Ulti, like Morgana shield or Noc shield, so if you  can protect your ally with it  if you  notice Skarner charging to him.

- Don't fight him 1v1 cause he will  probably own you. Especially if you're a jungler. Just play safe and get away.

-He has a hard time without blue early so try to steal it if you  think it's safe enough. It usually isn't.
